[Harp-L] insurance

I've been with Clarion for decades....at times, over $100,000 worth of instrument insurance....(no, I didn't own 600 hohner 270 deluxes, I was covering some Real Instruments I was playing for a living back then) ..they're a pretty good service.

They even replaced the top joint of one of my oboes when it cracked, "due to the air conditioning in a studio", admittedly a real stretch....they probably would draw the line if you asked for compensation for any wrong notes you play...(A clam-claim?).....

but for my one, far-fetched, "let's just try it to see what happens" claim, it worked out really amazingly well..... for me, anyway.

Had I been them, I'd not have paid that claim.

If you end up using them, it's probably best if you don't tell them about my potentially spurious claim of some decades ago....

OH, and, next billing, I'm going to tell them that I have the INTENTION of subscribing to Acoustic Guitar Magazine.....thanks for the advice.

I can't swear to it without looking it up but if memory serves they offered something like $10,000 worth of coverage for under $100 a year. They do not require itemization except for any single item valued at $5000 or more, though it is a very good idea to have a list of gear including serial numbers and descriptions as well as photos of anything particularly unique. I pay automatically so I'm not sure if it's still on but when I first signed up a few years ago they gave me a discount for subscribing to Acoustic Guitar magazine. I applied by phone and the rep told me about it. You didn't even have to actually have a subscription as long as you said you intended to get one.
